Thank You

I told myself never to fall in love

But when I saw you my heart says that

“I Love You”

My heart beats so fast that

I cannot stop

You taught me how to love again

And care to a person

Every time you see me alone

You make me smile and make me feel better

Thank you for coming into my life,

For sharing with me the real meaning of LOVE

Thank you for being my inspiration

The only one who brought me to my ambition

Thank you for decorating my life

And made me a natural man

Without you I would be nothing because

I know you’re my everything.

Unfinished

Beloy wote: It was in the year 2001 when 35 individuals from all walks of life joined the battle as they pioneered Bachelor of Technology in Environmental Engineering (BTEE) program of the Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology and dreamed to be the country’s new breed of environmental engineers. Their 5-year journey passed both smooth road of success and rough roads of trials where different problems could hardly be precluded. Little by little, the lengthy years gradually reduced…and some had their limbs wounded along the way. Thanks God for 23 BTEE PIONEERS triumphantly hurdled the obstacles along the journey. They are nothing but tough survivors in quest of the title- Engineer!

Anyway, it’s not only me and not only the pioneers are survivors in the quest for something. Every human being of this planet fighting in any way they can to survive are survivors. Being a survivor, let me share the tips of Jerry Java telling me on how to become a survivor:

S-Strength is needed in every time. We should never lose strength because it’s the only one we’ve got to continue fighting till the next day and beyond. Forget about dying, quitting, surrendering and giving up.

U-Understand what you’re fighting for. Know what and why you are living for. Some survivors fight not for themselves but for those whom they love. Many insist to survive for the benefit of the many.

R-Rebound. When lost, find yourself. Reflect where you have gone wrong and invest in your strengths. Be ready to show the people that the chance they give you is never wasted. Prove them all wrong. Make it by fighting back. No, this isn’t about revenge. Rebound goes with love while revenge rides with hate.

V-Visit your past. Successful people never forget their past. A better future will always be based on one’s yesterday. Never be ashamed of who you were years before. But please don’t stagnate yourself in the past, instead, move on.

I-Intelligence is significant. We don’t need to become a genius like Einstein. A scale in weighing things before finally deciding is enough. Awareness on what to do and where to go next is alright.

V-Vast confidence and courage is required from you. How can you fight when you don’t have the courage? How can you face people when you don’t have the confidence? The only way is to trust and believe in you. This keeps you always ready wherever the flow of life may take you.

E-Every time, pray. Swords and guns are nothing compared to a sincere prayer. Pray so that God will always be beside you. Pray before, during and every after contest you’re in. Many have gone miles because of prayer. And hundreds have fallen because of neglect.

To all BTEE Pioneers…you are the tough survivors in your quest for higher learning. May your experiences provide you an armor and fighting sword in the game of life that you are about to face. Be a survivor as you live through life! Good luck for the quest. Alota Continua!

Tsk… Tsk… Tsk…

That was the dramatically expressed tribute to the pioneers the day before their graduation, but after three years what and where are the pioneers now? For sure, all my barkada and my classmates are surely have their job now. Some of them still look for the best and stable work. They even transferring one company to another to find a career for a brighter future. Even some of them are unfortunate enough to land on the company and working not related to their chosen field but the point here is, we are still courageous and hopeful that there would be a right time for each one of us. The only difference among of us… is that for me I’ve realized earlier that seeking job while still freshly geared with knowledge and wisdom and with all the experience is my best asset competing with thousand graduates and just graduated walking with the same journey.

I often asked myself, what would happen to me and to my classmates in the next three years?

To be continued…
